Thinning Effects on Stand Structure and Carbon Content of Secondary Forests

In, this study, we analysed the effects of thinning on stand structure and carbon stocks for a mixed conifer broadleaf natural secondary forests in Small Khingan Mountains, China. Stand were assessed trees from unthinned control (CK), lightly thinned (LT), moderately (MT) heavily (HT) treatments. Results showed that heavier thinning, larger crown area became. Under MT treatment, tended to be evenly distributed when compared under other All LT HT treatments strongly those CK treatment. As intensitiy increased, distributions size differentiation crowding degree gradually decreased. result, competitive pressure diminished, more dominant emerged. In addition, there was significant positive correlation between individual tree stock canopy all Carbon tends accumulate individuals with random distribution, sparse spacing, strong mingling index large advantage.
